Cornelia Parker’s work is exceptional.  In this piece, she blows up a common garden shed into hundreds of shards and particles.  After the explosion, she goes through a careful process of rearranging the thousands of shards in the way in which they were placed during the explosion.  Suspended from wire, the shards are gathered around a single lightbulb that illuminates an event by which waste has been created. If anything, this piece is a metaphor for my creative process–the constant want for static or control in an uncontrollable process.  The beauty inevitably comes from the inability to control the making and dictate the result.
