Carl Kleiner is a man whose reputation precedes him. He’s known internationally for his extraordinary still-life photography and has spawned countless imitators over his career. But his new book (out later this year) is unlike the Carl Kleiner most of us know. For starters this six book archive displays nothing of the pristine, polished studio environment with which we usually associate him, and secondly he’s swapped digital for analogue, using a second-hand Rolleflex and Portra film to capture his photographs.

Carl was kind enough to allow us access to his vast archive of analogue photography, showing us some of the private moments he commits to film with his young family and friends. A selection of the best are available to examine in the latest issue of Printed Pages, alongside an interview with Carl about the mammoth task of compiling them all into a brand new printed project. “The final book will weigh about five kilos,” he says, “I think I’ll probably sell between one and three copies.”

Richard Gaston, a 23 year-old photographer from Glasgow, Scotland once again awakened our Wanderlust. His photography documents his adventures in the great outdoors where he captures beautiful shots of lakes, mountains and is time spent with friends. We love the free-spirited and vivid feel that comes with it. You can see much more of Richard Gaston’s work on his Tumblr and Profile. For more inspiring travel photography click here.
