It was only by happenstance that Tsuneaki Hiramtasu’s photographs became viral 2 years ago. He had never considered himself a photographer but read about over-exposure techniques and decided to try it out. He took these photographs of fireflies over a 3-year period and released them in 2010 and they quickly became popular. The overexposure adds an incredibly ephemeral effect, capturing these fleeting moments in a really incredible way. Check out the photographs here.
